BEYOND THE LABEL
THERE'S MORE TO THE STORY THAN A CHEW.
Traditional rawhide is generally made from the inner layer of animal hide. Before it becomes a finished chew, that material is cleaned, processed, shaped, and dried.
Depending on the manufacturing process, chemical treatments may be used. Production methods, ingredient transparency, and quality controls can differ significantly between manufacturers.

Swallowed rawhide pieces can be difficult to digest. Larger pieces may cause gastrointestinal upset or become lodged in the digestive tract, potentially requiring emergency veterinary treatment.

Rawhide manufacturing methods vary, and some processes involve chemical treatments. Those treatments do not necessarily leave harmful residues in the finished chew, but sourcing, transparency and quality controls still matter to us.
